We are a registered charity based in Eastbourne, and we provide a hearing service across the entire county of East Sussex.

We operate from our Centre in St. Leonard’s Road, which contains our offices and a space open to the public. Our reason for being is to help people affected by issues arising from being deaf, deafened or deaf-blind as well as their friends, family, neighbours, employers and employees.

Our services include:

  • Communication Support
  • Technology for deaf people
  • Lipreading
  • Sign Language
  • Hard of Hearing groups
  • Hearing aid maintenance
  • Hearing aid batteries
  • Home Visits
  • Outreach
  • Deaf Outreach Service (bus)
  • Provision & installation of assistive devices
  • Hearing screening tests

Our goal is to maintain our Centre as a sanctuary for deaf people, where time is taken to communicate as effectively as possible. Access to the Centre is easy – all on one level – and we aim to make sure that everyone is welcomed as soon as they step inside. Deafness does not discriminate, neither do we.
